Sofia Tejeda

Chef Sofia Tejeda ’17 was born and raised in Mexico City. Upon moving to San Antonio in 2008, her innate love for food and creativity became a guiding factor in her education and career.

After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America San Antonio in 2017, Sofia began her journey as a pastry chef. She completed an internship at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, California as well as Delice Chocolatier, Feast, and Signature. She was eventually named executive pastry chef at the Eilan hotel & Spa in San Antonio.

Tejada currently works at Restaurant Mixtli and was nominated for Outstanding Pastry Chef by the James Beard Foundation in February 2022. She continues to make her mark not only in her hometown and state but beyond, even appearing on the Food Network’s Girl Scout Cookie Championship in 2020.
