How to Apply
Eligibility
To be eligible for the AWBP, you must meet the following requirements by the program start date:
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Have a bachelor's or associate degree in hospitality management, culinary arts management, or a related field.
OR
Have a bachelor's degree in another discipline, along with a minimum of 12 months experience in service or management at an establishment where a professional wine and beverage program is in place.

1. Complete our application form.

- If you don't have a CIA profile, you must first create your profile.

2. Include your essay.
Your essay should be 400–500 words describing your experience and your interest in the field of wines and beverages. Your essay should include a discussion of your future career goals and how successful completion our program will help you reach those goals.
3. Pay your $50 application fee.
Include a check or money order with your paper application.
4. Ask for Recommendations.
Two recommendations are required. One should be from a senior administrator or faculty member of the degree program from which you will be graduating or have graduated. The second should be from another professional who can speak to your character and abilities. If you do not have a degree in hospitality management, culinary arts management, or a related field, the second recommendation must verify the duration of your service or management employment as a minimum of 12 months.
5. Request Official Transcript.
You must submit all previous college transcripts. Download the Transcript Release Form (PDF) and ask any postsecondary schools you've attended to mail your official transcripts (not student copies) directly to the CIA Admissions Department.

6. Interview with a Greystone admissions representative.
After we've reviewed your completed application, we'll contact you to schedule an interview. Where a visit is not possible, we will arrange an interview by telephone.
