- What is a PodCast?
The term "PodCasting" derives from
Apple's iPod. It is an audio/video
broadcast available on the Web for downloading to a PC, MP3 player, or just a
web browser. Despite its name, a PodCast may be played
through a variety of digital software and hardware and its use is not limited
to iPod brand products.
- Can I watch the PodCast on my computer or do I need to have an iPod?
PodCasting is a type of online media delivery. You
simply download selected files via the Internet; you don't need to own an iPod,
or any portable music player, to watch a PodCast.
- What are the system
requirements?
The CIA
recommends the following for optimum downloading and viewing of our PodCasts:
- Broadband Internet connection
- Supported browser:
- PC: Internet Explorer or later, or Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.6 or later
- Mac: Safari 2.0.4 or later, or Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.6 or later
- Audio speakers or headphones; required for listening to podcasts
- Does it matter whether I have a
Mac or a PC?
PodCasts can be downloaded to any computer or MP 3 player. However, we do recommend that your hardware
have the appropriate system requirements.
- How long should the download
take?
The
speed of downloading your CIA PodCast depends upon
the speed of your Internet connection. It
can take as little as 2 minutes if you have a high-speed connection or over 25
minutes with dial-up.
- How long will my CIA PodCast be available on my account?
After
purchasing your CIA PodCast, it will be available for
downloading for 14 days. Once you
download to your computer, the PodCast is yours to
keep.
